Matthew Schaefer is a managing director of Fairview Capital Partners Inc. Prior to joining Fairview, Matt was a managing director of Crossroads Investment Advisers, L.P., and
a member of its investment committee. Previously, he was vice president and treasurer of Bigler Investment Management Company, an entity of Bigler/Crossroads. Prior to that appointment Matt was a senior manager in the mergers & acquisitions and tax practices of a national accounting firm.

As a member of investment committees at both Crossroads and Fairview, Matt has participated in the investment of over $600 million in more than 50 venture capital and private equity limited partnerships. Matt's responsibilities also include sourcing investment opportunities, due diligence activities and negotiating and closing partnership investments. Matt maintains the firm's relationships with a number of venture capital groups, and he is a member of the advisory board of partnerships sponsored by Alliance Technology Ventures, Domain Associates, Emergence Capital Partners and Forward Ventures. In addition to his position on the NAIC board, he is a board member of the UConn R&D Corporation.

Matt received a bachelor of arts degree in economics and accounting from The College of the Holy Cross where he is a member of the President's Council. He also holds the CPA designation.
